| WOOHOO so we did it in the end - after changing our minds 1239875 times about whether to perform or not to perform.
biggest push for me was that I didn't want to get excessively ribbed about chickening out by blondie. that, and not wanting to regret!
cos you mostly regret what you didn't do, rather that what you did do...
wasn't the performance I originally had in mind ages ago, and after changing plans 23498 times further, it turned out nothing like we'd expected.
throw a couple of songs together at 9am, allow guitarist 15 minutes to look at chords and go ahead and wing it.
FAQ: 1. Why did you sign up?! A: must you ask? shouldn't you know that I say yes to lots of random things by now? without necessarily having thought through them in much detail?
2. Who's the team? A: awesome friends who throw themselves into in despite the 3 hours/5 hours of sleep they got night before, and with no practice...
WOOHOO

| BARRACUDA.
<<the weekend away>> listening to c'est si bon and eating breakfast on the balcony - yes, it's so good!
after butchering it in the worst possible way by trying to sing it in what we think is french, I come back to look for the translation/lyrics, and I stumble on this 5566 version. youtube
warning: taiwanese boyband chinese version? they bop around and it is very much not what I had in mind. even more disturbing that I was humming their tune at one point.
anyway, trooped down south for Cheryl's hens weekend. ate drank and swam. laughed a lot and made up too many songs with my 6 chord repertoire. late night pedicures and dodgy cheap wine. I hope Cheryl had fun, because I'm sure we all did.
An aside, but in not wanting to ask for favours, am I being considerate or am I just being proud/over-independent?
c'est la vie.
<<Tasha>> Yoon mi rae (Tasha) is a rapper and this piece "black happiness" is so touching because you know it's from her heart. It's about her struggle with the racism she felt as she grew up of mixed race in Korea. At one point she raps really fast. cool. youtube
세상이 미울때 (When I hate the world) 음악이 날 위로해 주네 (Music soothes me) so you gotta be strong you gotta hold on and love yourself 세상이 미울때 (When I hate the world) 음악이 날 일으켜주네 (Music raises me up) so you gotta be strong you gotta hold on and love yourself
from me to you - be strong, hold on, love yourself....because... "it's time to learn, the BARRACUDA!"
